We are on the lookout for someone to drive our Creative Marketing, Digital Media, Global Communications, Content & Community.
As this title hints at, this is not an easy role to describe in one line! It will be a hugely varied full-time role, with the possibility for flexibilty and will reflect and support the vibrant, exciting and creative environment that we have built around our brand.
Although not easy to put a label on, this will be hugely important role here at MASON. We plan for 2023 to be a big year, building on the success of our road.cc Bike of the Year WIN and finalist places in both Road Bike of the Year AND Bike of the Year and also stunning reviews for our new Exposure model. We are also working towards big things for our 10th year of MASON.
You will be a big part of all this, as well as helping to grow new markets by showing our wonderful creations to the world and inviting them to our thriving community.
What You'll Be Doing:
Alongside Dom, you’ll be helping to ensure our brand image reflects the true Mason ethos and is known in the right places. You’ll be assisting with the creative process for launching and marketing our bicycle designs. You will have to be creative and may have to produce various graphic media, take photos, visit press and studios, as well as helping to manage the events we are often involved with.
Our social media community is thriving and very special to us, you will be responsible for keeping this running and growing, including interacting with our audience on all platforms. We are also well known for supporting riders and riding, we support some of the best riders in the world as well as being closely involved with local groups and riding events, both UK and International. You will be closely involved with encouraging and developing these important and exciting areas of our business.
With a great knowledge of cycling and the outdoors and with a global, social, and environmentally conscious approach you will play a key role in transporting Mason Cycles to its next stage and reaching a wider and international audience. You will make a positive difference to the riding lives of our diverse supported rider team by celebrating their achievements and telling the world. You will be one of our touch-points, helping to link and strengthen our global community so we can continue to listen to, and learn from, our riders worldwide.
Below, in no particular order, are some of the daily activities within this new role:
• Creating engaging email newsletters with high open rates
• Use highly targeted digital advertising budget to maximise impact of content
• Provide audience insight that adds value to Mason and its clients
• Identify and establish new customer segments and offerings
• Planning and execution of all communications and media actions on all channels, including online and social media.
• Improve segmentation and efficiency of marketing output
• Coordinating products for review with press.
• Product launches as well as developing new business opportunities
• Event involvement strategy
• Supported rider/ambassador liaison
• Competitor and customer insights analysis
• Helping to deliver brand performance in line with overall plan
• Derive insight from key data to ensure brand performance is on track
• Ensure the relationship with key media and creative partners is healthy and productive
• Ensuring digital and social is embedded in brand communication plans
• We are passionate about the environment, sustainability and working with land owner to help improve our local environment. You’ll help to show our audience what we are doing, to encourage more of the same in the wider outdoor community.
Ideally, you would have a wide range of the below skills, qualifications and experience. But our main requirements are passion, enthusiasm and a love for cycling and the outdoor world;
• BS/MS degree in marketing OR proven experience in digital marketing is highly desirable
• A self-starter, highly organised, and able to work well with individuals at all levels
• Experience in brand / marketing / creative in the cycling and/or outdoors industry
• Experience of creative direction, brand building, storytelling, conceptual and marketing campaigns
• Excited to work in a small-team, autonomous, agile creative culture, with the flexibility to change focus for different projects
• Solid presentation and interpersonal skills and ability to build and drive internal and external relationships
• A good knowledge of media content creation methods and skills, as well as newsletter and social media marketing
• A good knowledge of on and off-road riding, bikepacking and ultracycling
• Good knowledge of Creative Suite for content creation.
• Proven experience of ecommerce content management using a system such as BigCommerce or Spree.
• Knowledge of front-end CMS frameworks such as Prismic or Strappi desirable.
• Experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns is highly desirable
• Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
• Experience in optimising landing pages and user funnels
• Good knowledge of website analytics tools
• Experience in setting up and optimising Google Adwords campaigns or similar
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
• Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurements.

Where We Are: At the base of the South Downs National park, working from a listed 350-year-old flint barn, based on a sustainable mixed farm in West Sussex, UK.
Your salary and package:
Full Time Position (39.5 hours per week / 9:00-5.30pm Mon-Thurs, Fri 9:00-5.00pm)
- £Negotiable – depending on experience
- 20 days (rising to 22 days per annum annual leave) + Bank Holidays
