Redefining Endurance: Meet the Definition Integrale
Ten years ago, the MASON Definition showed what a carefully designed aluminium road bike could achieve. In the hands of Josh Ibbett, it crossed Europe to win the Transcontinental Race, and it has since become a trusted companion for those who ride fast, far, and with purpose.
Now, a decade on, the Definition evolves. The Definition Integrale is a new chapter in this story: sharper, faster, and cleaner, while still true to its endurance roots.
Why create a new Definition?
The Definition has always been about balance: fast enough to race, comfortable enough to ride all day, durable enough to rely on season after season. That hasn’t changed. What has changed are the possibilities offered by modern components and design. Let's ask Dom Mason – designer of the Definition and all MASON cycles:
The track record of the Definition speaks for itself. But I knew it had even more to give. The latest electronic groupsets, the clean integration of Deda Elementi’s components – these let us take the Definition into new territory. Even faster, even further, with a really focussed, sporty ride.
The Definition Integrale embraces this focus. With geometry refined for an attacking position, full cable integration, and optimisation for electronic shifting, it brings a new intensity to the Definition family.
A milestone worth celebrating
The launch of the Integrale is no ordinary release. To mark this important stage in the evolution of the Definition, we’ve created a strictly limited Launch Edition, each frame individually numbered with frame decals and stamped bottom brackets.
Available in two new finishes – ProcessWhite with black, brass, vela and yellow detailing, and PrismGreen with white, tungsten, and deep-orange highlights – these first 50 frames represent something rare and lasting.
Launch Edition frames – in both colours – are individually numbered 01 to 25.
Each comes with a unique decal set and a brushed brass headbadge exclusive to the Launch Edition. More than bicycles, they are markers of a moment in MASON history.
As Dom explains:
When Josh Ibbett showed the world what the Definition could do, it felt like a turning point for our young brand. Ten years on, I wanted to celebrate that moment in a way that felt special – limited, numbered, and unmistakably MASON. The Launch Edition Integrale is exactly that.
Fast endurance, redefined
The Integrale has been designed for riders who want to attack the road while still enjoying the all-day assurance that MASON geometry is known for. Compared to the Definition3, it features a lower stack and crown height, offering a racier position and a sharper, more responsive character.
Dom has tuned every size to deliver confident, balanced handling, with smaller sizes receiving shortened chainstays and adjusted angles that ensure agility without compromising comfort or control.
I’ve always believed smaller riders shouldn’t have to compromise on handling or fit. With the Integrale, the ride is equally confident whether you’re on a 48 or a 62.
Aluminium, refined and celebrated
In a market dominated by carbon fibre, the Definition is a statement of faith in metal. Working closely with Dedacciai in Italy, both versions are based around a custom tubeset that offers both precision and resilience. Dom explains his thoughts:
For me, aluminium remains an amazing material for building fast, light bicycles. It’s durable, it’s comfortable, and it gives us incredible control over performance. The Integrale shows just how far modern aluminium design can go.
This is a bike built not just for one season, but for many.
The cleanest Definition yet
Integration lies at the heart of the Integrale. The advanced DedaAR carbon fork hides hoses within its elegant, aerodynamic head tube. MASON’s proven ThruBB system keeps routing neat and efficient, while discreet ports allow wired Shimano Di2 variants to be fitted.
The result is a frame that feels modern and minimal, its lines uninterrupted. Nothing distracts from the ride itself.
Choice remains central
The Definition Integrale does not replace the Definition3. It complements it.
-
Definition3: for riders who value all-season versatility, mechanical groupset compatibility, rack mounts, and dynamo-lighting options.
-
Definition Integrale: for riders who want sharper geometry, integrated routing, and a truly focussed, performance-driven ride.
As Dom puts it:
When we offered our titanium Aspect in two versions, riders loved having the choice. The Definition3 continues to be the ultimate versatile endurance machine, while the Integrale is for those who want to lean forward and really attack the road.
Built for real riding
Even as a performance-focused design, the Integrale hasn’t forgotten its roots. It retains clearance for 35mm tyres (32mm with mudguards), discreet eyelets for all-weather riding, and a fork with dynamo cable routing. It’s fast, but it’s still practical in the way MASON bikes always are.
And with UDH dropouts, it’s ready for the latest drivetrains, future-proofed for seasons to come.

SECURE A LAUNCH EDITION DEFINITION INTEGRALE
Looking ahead
The Definition Integrale is more than a new model. It’s a celebration. A decade since the original Definition helped shape a new vision for endurance aluminium, the Integrale pushes that vision further.
Focused, integrated, and refined, it is a bike designed to be ridden fast and far, but also to stand as a marker of what thoughtful bicycle design can achieve.
The Definition began as a challenge to convention. Ten years later, the Integrale proves that the challenge is still alive. Aluminium is still special, and the Definition story has a long way to go.
