Followers of MASON will know that we love collaborations. So, it's no surprise that we were delighted to get the email from our friends at ZyroFisher - who supply our SRAM components - requesting two framesets for The Cycle Show. But it was only a few days before this that we had received Definition2 | Prototype #1 with thru-axle/flat-mount dropouts and revised geometry.

We'd been unsure about how and when to expose our updated Defintion and this was a perfect opportunity; on a head-liner stand at The Cycle Show specced out with the latest SRAM/Zipp portfolio.

At this point Prototype #1 was mostly bare metal and because we usually paint our frames in Italy we didn't have the time to get this finished in our usual production standard.

So, we addressed ourselves to a local sprayer who layed the basecoat. Getting the colour on was  straightforward. The final details are more complicated so we did it ourselves..

The following images clarify the decisive movements of the decal application, bringing into focus the process of prototype > MASON in a photographic procedure.
