'Is this the biggest country haul' on a MASON?
You might be interested to know that my MASON BOKEH, named 'The Africa Queen' after her first big trip to Africa back in 2018 has now visited the following countries: England, Wales, Scotland, France, Belgium, Holland, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, USA (California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico)
Toby Haskins, MASON BOKEH owner.
Since leaving the MASON Barn, Friend of MASON Toby has taken his riding partner, his BOKEH on adventures across the globe, 12 countries to be exact with plans to grow this number in 2023.
With 33 others, Toby recently rode a supported road ride, with a short section of gravel, that went from Las Vegas to Spaceport America in New Mexico, here’s his adventure roundup…
There sure are a lot of big climbs along the route and all at an altitude that varied between 2500ft to 8000ft. I got to fleetingly visit the Grand Canyon which has been on my list to do forever. It did not disappoint! We Cycled desert, mountains, grasslands, 35 degrees heat, pouring rain/hail/thunder & lightning storms (had to pack up for the day when that hit us).
The weather was not kind to us and it did not help that they kept telling us the spaceport had been located in NM because it had over 320 days of sunshine a year! It did finally appear after a 2 days absence on our last day when we arrived at the spaceport.
I took my BOKEH which was running as sweet as new thanks to MASON team member, Matt, who did a BOKEH surgery pre-trip. It is now 4.5 years old and has clocked just shy of 11000 miles. You might be interested to know that it has now visited the following countries:
England, Wales, Scotland, France, Belgium, Holland, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, USA (California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico).
So what’s next for Toby and his BOKEH?
I am hoping to add Ireland to the list next year for starters. If I could only keep one Mason then the Bokeh would be the one. The Coefficient RR bars that Matt fitted for me are perfect on the Bokeh. In my opinion, they look great and are of course super comfortable. Highly recommend especially with the Redshift shock stopper stem.
Thanks, Toby for sharing your latest adventure. If you have a story to share, we'd love to hear it, contact us here.
