Welcome to the MASON family, Becky Surridge
As 2025 gets underway, we're excitedly welcoming another rider to the MASON rider team.
Becky Surridge is better known to many as Girl Outdoors – the name of her YouTube channel where she shares stories of her amazing adventures.
Becky is all about getting outside and finding adventure, whether on a bike, on foot, or afloat.
I'm a huge advocate for outdoor adventures and connecting to nature, especially in a society that spends 80% - 90% of our time indoors. Coming from a childhood of racing competitively nationally, it's great to now look at cycling as a way of exploring new countries, meeting new, inspiring people and being outdoors.
I think my goal is to inspire others to get outside, move their bodies and resonate with cycling, whether it's entering an ultra, racing competitively or just simply exploring a new area by two wheels and feeling the immense benefits, I love doing this through storytelling by creating videos.
Becky will riding a MASON Macro for her two-wheeled adventures this year, starting with the Atlas Mountain Race. When she came to the Barn to pick up her Macro, Becky attached her Tailfin bags and went for a ride with Dom on the trails of the Adur valley to check her set-up.
We love Becky's approach. It's not just about her adventures – riding the Silk Road Mountain Race or canoeing solo through British Columbia – but also about the way she shares her stories. Becky's message is a motivating one, but an authentic one. She revels in the buzz of her achievements, while being honest about the challenges.
Watch Becky's videos and you get a real picture of how the best things in life don't always come easily, but they're worth the effort. It's a message we can relate to, and a reason we really wanted to help Becky with a MASON bicycle.
Becky is about to head for Morocco to begin the Atlas Mountain Race, where fellow MASON rider Josh Ibbett will also be riding a MASON Macro. We'll be closely following Becky and Josh, and we look forward to updates on their experiences – and hearing how the Macro is helping them tackle this huge challenge.
Go for it, Becky.
