Definition Integrale: the first chapter
We always knew the Definition Integrale project was going to be special. Like everything we design at MASON, the Definition Integrale was sparked by rider experience and feedback. Some riders of the Definition – our aluminium endurance bicycle – had been asking for a little bit more. More urgency. More pace. A ride feel that turned up the gas a notch or two on the established long-distance creds of the Definition.
So that's what Dom created: a new, alternative version of the Definition, with angles and tubes subtly tweaked to develop a more attacking ride feel. He worked with Dedacciai in Italy – not just to create a custom tubeset, but to develop a fork and headset that would enable concealed, integrated routing to match the sleek lines of this new format, optimised for electrontic groupsets.
The Launch Edition of the Definition Integrale sees individually numbered frames, matching frame decals and a unique brass-effect head badge.
When the first batch of the Integrale arrived from our Italian makers, we were excited to see the specifications chosen by this special new model's very first riders. Would their component selections suit the fast versatile platform Dom had provided?
We weren't disappointed.
1x and 2x groupsets from SRAM, Shimano and Campagnolo. Wheels from HUNT and DT Swiss. Cockpit components from Deda and Zipp, optimised to make the most of innovative integrated routing. Builds tailored to each rider – some with mudguards, some with dynamo lighting setups. Some built for true all-season versatility, some for simplicity and sheer speed – each taking advantage of the flexibility designed into every Definition Integrale.
Let's take a look at some of beautiful Definition Integrale examples that have recently left the Barn...
