We started looking for new bikes for our upcoming bike packing trip to Kenya with a clear goal in mind: we didn’t want bikepacking specific bikes, but rather versatile bikes that we could also use for light bikepacking or even cross country mountain biking at home. The Mason Macro proved to be exactly that: it was the reliable bikepacking platform that we wished for during loaded, tough riding in Africa, while simultaneously being incredibly lightweight, agile and stiff crosscountry race bike at home.
