The MASON Aspect – our ultimate handcrafted titanium multi-surface masterpiece – has been further refined and enhanced, keeping it at the very head of the pack, as you’d expect.

But now there’s not just one MASON Aspect. There are two.

Designer Dom Mason has brought the Aspect back to the drawing board for a series of refinements and updates. Bringing together new developments in tubesets and componentry, the new Aspects retain the compelling performance, ride quality and custom Dedacciai tubing of the original, while welcoming new features to make this modern classic even better.

Every new Aspect receives these new refinements:

  • A T47 bottom bracket bracket boosts stiffness around a crucial area of the bike, giving a very stable pedalling platform and enhancing power transfer to the rear wheel. Large, outboard bearings give efficiency and durability.
  • Cable routing is cleaner and smoother than ever, running  more fully within the frame.
  • Downtube profiles have been finessed, and made size-dependent: larger frames have a new 48mm diameter downtube, while smaller sizes receive a lighter 42mm tube. Larger and more powerful riders enjoy more strength and pedalling stability, while for shorter and lighter riders, weight and ride feel are optimised.
  • Seatstays are now lighter, with a smaller diameter and feature completely redesigned triple-bend and profile. Chainstays are deeper in section and slimmer in profile. The outcome is a more stable pedalling platform, with better power transfer, enhanced comfort and increased clearance for tyre and mudguard.
  • Optional dedicated dynamo routing is introduced, enabling year-round adventures in all weathers.

Here’s how one Aspect becomes two

When re-detailing the Aspect, Dom heard the requests of some riders for fully integrated cabling – giving the minimalist appearance and clean clutter-free lines loved by many. Paired with the opportunity for a slightly lower crown height, an even sleeker, sportier Aspect was waiting to be born.

But Dom also knows that for many, an internal cable routing approach is already the perfect solution, where hoses and cables pass conventionally from bars to frame, blending clean lines with hassle-free maintenance and adjustment. Furthermore, the geometry of the Aspect is already optimised for the all-day riding comfort so many MASON riders love.

Weighing up these two design solutions, Dom set to work with our Italian makers and took the opportunity to create, for the first time, two versions of the MASON Aspect.
